Cleaner, cheaper and better transport Choices

Transport connects us to everything: our communities, workplaces, friends and family, and all of life’s essentials. At the moment, too many Australians are reliant on polluting cars that are expensive to run because we don’t have other options. Australia’s car-centric transport system is costing us in high petrol bills and climate pollution, while making our streets congested and unsafe.

The good news?

We have all the solutions we need to clean up transport and give Australians better choices for getting around.

The solution

From electric vehicles to shared and active transport, we can rethink how Australia travels – for the better.

We bring together research, policy, media and digital expertise to drive real change. Our biggest success so far was helping to secure Australia’s first cap on pollution from our vehicles. This will cut climate pollution by 20 million tonnes. That’s the same amount of pollution produced by every gas-connected home in Australia for more than two years!

There’s more work to do. We are focused on boosting choice and giving Aussies better options by:

Improving access to cleaner cars that are cheaper to run

Catalysing action and investment on shared and active transport in our big cities

Advocating for faster interstate rail as an alternative to long haul car trips and plane rides

Improve transport options for Australians
