In December 2022, the Climate Council set about building a clearer picture of the impact of climate change on the mental health of Australians.
Our study found more than 80% of Australians have experienced a disaster in the past five years. Of those, half said they’d experienced a mental health issue as a result. We asked strangers to read out some of the testimonies gathered from the study. The overall message is simple: stronger action on climate change is fundamental to promoting the mental health and well-being of Australians.
