With a career in Australian emergency management spanning over 30 years, Craig Lapsley has worked within the Victorian Country Fire Authority as the Deputy Chief Officer, and as Manager State Operations in NSW Fire Brigades. He was taken on to transform the Victoria State Emergency Service from a government department to a statutory authority, before being appointed as Victoria’s first and only Fire Services Commissioner in 2010. In 2014, he became the Commissioner of Victoria’s Emergency Management, a position he held until 2018.
