Kirsten is a senior communications leader with 15 years of experience in mission-driven organisations in Australia and the USA. After graduating with a Media and Communications degree from the University of Melbourne, Kirsten spent five years cutting her teeth in creative advertising agencies before shifting to the non-profit sector and leading digital campaigns for Choice and Climate Council, then Khan Academy and Lean in, in the US.
Kirsten moved back to Sydney at the end of 2020 and set her sights on electing more progressive governments to Australia’s parliaments. Kirsten joined the Australian Labor Party as Digital Director in 2021 and spearheaded the election campaigns that delivered Anthony Albanese as Prime Minister in 2022 and Chris Minns as NSW Premier in 2023.
Since re-joining the Climate Council as Strategic Communications Director in 2024, Kirsten is responsible for leading strategic communications across channels and developing cut-through, persuasive messages to effectively connect with key audiences.
