Liz Hirst is joint owner of Wildwood Cape Tribulation, a farm and exotic fruit orchard located in Queensland’s heritage listed Daintree rainforest.
After receiving an exotic fruit basket every birthday growing up, Liz realised her childhood dream of having her own mangosteen tree in 2014 when she and her husband took over the management of Wildwood from its original founders.
Originally from the UK, Liz travelled the world and tried her hand at communications and scuba-diving instruction before relocating to Cape Tribulation with her young family.
Liz is passionate about addressing climate change by using solar energy and rainwater – Cape Tribulation is the largest community in Australia living off the grid. In addition, she enjoys raising people’s awareness of tropical fruit and native wildlife by hosting tours of Wildwood’s rugged, world heritage listed orchard.
