Vivien Thomson AFSM is a mixed farmer from the south west slopes in NSW, and has been a rural firefighter for 32 years. Vivien has held several senior fire fighting positions, including Senior Deputy Captain and Captain of the ACT Parks Brigade, and as President of the ACT Fire Controllers Group. In 2004, she was the first woman to ever receive the Australian Fire Service medal in the ACT.
As a farmer, Vivien has experienced the impacts of climate change through extreme weather events, drought and fires, which impacted her property.
