Climate Media Centre
The Climate Media Centre provides a full suite of communications support – free of charge in the main – to the climate movement.
Since 2015, we’ve found, trained and supported more than 5000 diverse voices who have unique expertise to speak on critical climate policy debates. As a trusted communications advisor to the media, we intervene at strategic media moments to seed positive narratives and tackle harmful ones.
The Climate Media Centre localises and personalises climate change impacts and solutions for Australians. We connect journalists with powerful stories about people and places affected now, as well as inspiring yarns of those taking action to fix things.
New voices
It’s essential we hear from all parts of Australia about their experience of both the impacts and solutions for climate change – the Climate Media Centre works with people all over the country from all walks of life and backgrounds to connect you with their stories.
Fresh opinions
Sick of hearing from rent-a-quote media talent? Hear from ordinary Aussies about what they’re doing about climate change.
Expert media talent
We can connect you with experts in their field from engineers to medical doctors, community leaders to clerics and everyone in between.

Media training for the movement
The CMC also provides expert media training to help you tell your story effectively. Our trainers have years of journalism and communications experience and this extremely valuable service is offered free of charge thanks to our donors.
Participants rank their satisfaction with our training an average of 4.8 out of 5, and almost without exception those who complete our training say they are more confident and likely to engage in media interviews.

What our partners say about us:
Farmers for Climate (FCA)
Natalie Collard, CEO
“Farmers for Climate has a longstanding and highly trusted relationship with the Climate Media Centre. The CMC has been instrumental in supporting FCA and its spokespeople through organising interviews including the logistics and spokespeople, responding to reactive media opportunities, and vital media release distribution, (all things which FCA is not fully resourced to do) as well as media outreach. The Climate Media Centre is a valued contributor to FCA’s success, whereby in a short time we have developed a significant profile and earned a seat at the table with key decision makers.”
Climate Action Network Australia
Glen Klatovsky, CEO
“As CEO of the Climate Action Network Australia, I work with over 160 climate advocacy organisations across Australia, from small community volunteer-led groups in regional Australia to large multi-national NGOs. Since its formation in 2015, the CMC has been incredibly supportive and useful to our membership and beyond.
They provide pro bono assistance with communications with a broad range of organisations, from the smallest grassroots groups to the more established climate advocates.
The CMC’s model is unique in that it provides its services free of charge and is a small team staffed by former journalists and comms professionals.
In my view, the CMC provides value to the movement that far outweighs the dollar value of the services it offers. The team’s knowledge, experience, and media relationships are really money-can’t-buy assets for our members.”
